    Two 8 & Under team records were broken recently by Claire O'Shaughnessy. At the January mini meet Claire swam the 25 back in 18.79, and at our February home meet, Claire beat the 100 fly record with a 1:42.91! Be sure to give Claire a high five next time you see her!

    Classes for the Spring 2010 Sunday Stroke Clinic will begin Sunday, March 14th. We will run ten (10) classes over 11 Sundays – taking Easter Sunday, 4/4 off – ending Sunday 5/23. This year registration will be done online. Registration will open early March – look for postings at gbsaswim.org for the URL and opening date!!! 1:00pm and 2:00pm classes will be available; when those fill, a 3:00pm slot will open as necessary.

    Groups will be as follows:

    1. Beginners: Ages 4 & up meeting from 1:00 -1:45 p.m. (Cost: $80.00)
    Level I: Children must be able to get in the water without parents.
    Level II: Children must be able to push off the wall and kick to the instructor and be able to blow bubbles.

    2. Intermediate: Ages 5 & up meeting from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. (Cost: $110.00)
    Level I: Children must be able to swim 15 yards of freestyle with their face in the water and be able to kick on their back.
    Level II: Children must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke.

    3. Competitive: Ages 6 & up meeting from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. (Cost: $110.00)
    Level I: Children must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle with proficient lateral breathing and 25 yards of backstroke and have some knowledge of breast stroke.
    Level II: Children must be able to swim 25’s and 50’s repeatedly as well as have a competent breaststroke.

    GBSA has had many fantastic meets in the past; whether it be December travel or spring/summer time Champs we have had great meets. Well this year's performance at the ASC Holiday Meet outshines them all!! The kids were excited, had fun and made remarkable improvement. As a team we have never performed better!!! And thank you very much to the parents who helped out SO MUCH!! It was a wonderful weekend!!
